Howletts – 13th December 2014
Not sure of the day’s total bag for the shoot bag, but I know I got a brace of Mallards with one shot during the evening duck flight.
Howletts – 15th November 2014
123 for 330 odd shots, so they are getting better.
Dinner at Nick and Sam’s later with Paul and Toni. This year’s Sloe Gin gone in one night; very nice though.
Howletts – 1st November 2014
Dave Snowling dropped a very high duck.

Just over 100 for over 400 shots …
Howletts – 4th October 2014

First shoot meet – left Harry at home as it will be cover crop early in the season. The birds flew well of the first drive, best I’ve seen them on the first day.
Sunny and warm in the morning; chucked it down from about 11:00 and we all got cold and wet. Laurie made a good call to finish after 6 drives and we all retired to the new post shoot pub, Prince Albert, opposite the LB.
They finished with a bag of 86 and I brought a brace of red legs home.
Howletts (Beater’s Day) – 25th January 2014

It dawned on me 500 yrds from the shoot lodge that I’d forgotten my wellies, so I turned around and called Paul to explain I’d be late. He was just leaving for the second time himself and I ended up passing him on my way home (Jay had “forgotten” to clean her teeth). Arrived at the shoot and started to get ready when guess who pulls up, Paul, who’d had to go back for a second time to pick up his lunch.
On White Gate drive we stood on the road behind Jo and Derek for what turned out as Harry’s only stint of picking up for the day. Very glad we did as Harry picked a cock pheasant that Jo hadn’t realised she had brought down.
They all finished the day with about 75 for 460 odd shots.

First days Beating for Clive and I, on our local syndicate shoot.
As you can see, neither of us wore the requisit waxed cotton or tweed.
